Westerham Workshop was established in 2006 to restore and sell classic English sports cars, so that they can be fun to own and fun to drive. We strive to achieve a ‘just delivered’ look although where practical we will work to upgrade brakes and electrics with servos and alternators.

Restoring classic cars is as much about economics as engineering. For most of our customers the cost of rebuilding a much loved classic wil be more than the car is worth and so we exercise careful project management, scoping the work as fully as possible before a project is started.

We select our suppliers carefully, our engine work is sent out, but the majority of the restoration is done in house.

One way we keep costs down it to stay small, especially in the current economic climate, but being small enables us to offer a close personal service.

Once completed, cars are driven to ensure that we find any faults before our buyers do. And, anyway we like to enjoy them too!

ABOUT WESTERHAM WORKSHOP

Many classic cars are available at what may appear to be bargain prices on internet sites. However we have been alarmed to find just how much can be wrong with them, even if they have an MOT certificate. Putting them right takes time, skill, outside specialists and money and so we are never able to offer our work cheaply. We try to work to a standard, not a price.
Much as we love MGs, we work on other cars too. Now sold is the Mk3 Spitfire in Carmine Red, which has a lead free head, brake servo, Kenlowe fan, walnut dashboard, double duck hood and optional hard top.

Also we have been working on our show car, a 1975 MGBGT which has been in the family for many years, and a 1937 Jowett 8hp for a private client who sadly passed away last year.

We exist to carry out private commissions and offer a very personalised service to a small number of clients.

The MGTD at about the middle point of its restoration. It's when they look like this that you realise why restoring old classics is such a pleasure.

The little Husky is a much liked car and reminds us that Rootes made very good cars.
